About Coffee harvest

Coffee tree blossom last only a few days the flowers are metamorphosea out of fruits: the cherry. When the fruits become ripe, 6 to 8 months after blossom for the Arabica, 9 to 11 months for the Robusta, coffee harvest can start.

There are two ways, picking and picking off.

The picking: we gather exclusive manually and we pick only the ripe cherries. This technic is the most expensive, who obliges to pass by again and several days on the same coffee tree. this method gives us the best quality coffee beans.

The picking off: we gather by scrapping the branch of all its cherries. This method can be done by machines also. Since several years Brasil started to harvest this way.
